A Healing Guide for Overmethylation

Methylation is a complex process, but eating according to your methylation status doesn’t have to be. My High Folate Cookbook contains high, low, and moderate folate foods, verified research, meal planning, and delicious high folate recipes to heal overmethylation (too many methyl groups).

Includes 25 recipes: breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, and desserts.

For those of us who are undermethylated, any form of folate, folic, or folinic acid will function the same over time, regardless of whether it comes from food or supplements. This is because folate acts as a demethylating agent. The opposite is true for overmethylated individuals that require folate to reduce an overload of methyl groups.

Today, many foods are fortified with folic acids. This allows breads to carry long shelf lives along with important minerals. But we’ve also seen a rise in conditions such as autism, depression, bipolar disorder, autoimmune diseases, and diabetes. Studies also continue to emerge linking folic acid supplementation to illnesses such as breast cancer and colon cancer. Researchers involved in the treatment of cancer have found that too much folic acid is directly related to increased cancer rates. Depending on your body, you need more or less folate in your diet. Check out my High Folate Diet Cookbook for incredible recipes.

“I’m amazed by the amount of research and specificity contained in Sami’s cookbooks. Her lists of the most nourishing foods to heal my copper overload, undermethylation, and Pyrrole disorder are very extensive and the recipes are delicious. In fact, I don’t feel deprived at all and I have peace knowing I am on the right healing path for my biochemistry.”
